Inclusive Teaching

Singer-centred, supportive teaching
I teach classical and musical theatre singing, from curious beginners to advanced singers. Each singer is different, and lessons are shaped around the individual. I combine strong technical foundations with a flexible, responsive approach, creating a space where singers feel supported to reach their goals.
Technical work is grounded in healthy, stylistically informed vocal technique and always connected to musical expression and communication. We develop efficient breath use, expand and stabilise the range, build consistency across registers, increase vocal stamina, and deepen stylistic understanding in both classical and musical theatre repertoire - strengthening confidence as technique becomes secure.
Performance, auditions, and exams
I support singers preparing for auditions, competitions, performances, and graded singing exams up to diploma level. I regularly prepare pupils for exams with ABRSM, Trinity College London, and London College of Music across classical and musical theatre repertoire. Exams are optional; where singers choose to take them, they are prepared thoroughly, with a 100% success rate to date.
Neurodiversity-affirming and SEND-informed
My teaching is neurodiversity-affirming and SEND-informed. Lessons are collaborative with choice and clear communication at the centre, allowing singers to feel safe, regulated, and able to access their skills fully. This is especially supportive for singers who experience anxiety, demand sensitivity, differences in attention or processing, or sensory sensitivities.
This approach shapes how goals are set and reviewed, and how repertoire is introduced and learned. The aim is always to support access, build confidence, and ensure meaningful progress.
Alongside extensive teaching experience, I bring lived experience of neurodivergence, which informs my understanding of how expectations, anxiety, sensory environments, and executive functioning can affect learning and performance, allowing me to respond with clarity, flexibility, and respect.
