Arne Kovac studied the piano in Essen (Germany) with G. Dautzenberg and S. Mueller. At the age of 18 he founded Junges Borbecker Musiktheater and was their musical director for more than 10 years until he moved to Bristol. He became musical director of Bristol Opera in 2004 and since 2008 he is also the MD of Northavon Youth Theatre School and White Horse Opera. Arne has conducted operas such as Macbeth, The Marriage of Figaro and Pearl Fishers, musicals including Into the Woods, Fiddler on the Roof and Kiss me, Kate and even his own composed musical Mord im Morgengrauen. Arne particularly enjoys spectacular performances of works from the 20th century like Der Mond by Carl Orff with 6 percussionists or Help, Help, the Globolinks by Gian-Carlo Menotti with prerecorded synthesizer music. Bristol Opera's Eugene Onegin won the Wilfred Roe Trophy for Chorus singing and the Rose Bowl for best opera/operetta. www.arne-kovac.co.uk
